Socialism and Electoralism

Thursday, September 23rd at 7 p.m.

Location: In Person at 900 S. Shelby Street

MASKS REQUIRED

As we are set to kick off our electoral campaign season, we need to think about how we as socialists engage in electoral politics. While transformative pieces of legislation like the PRO Act and the Green New Deal have stalled, blocked in the federal Senate by the bought-and-paid-for lackeys of the billionaire class, workers face potential sweeping changes in state and local politics as a result of rural and suburban conservative strongholds and the decennial redistricting process. Join us for a discussion of why electoral engagement, even in a capitalist society, is critical to furthering the socialist cause. We will also have a brief overview of the state and local redistricting process that is likely to affect our electoral work here in Louisville.
