Green New Deal for louisville (2021)
Democratize LG&E
The residents of our city should be the decision makers on our energy policy, not an out-of-state, for-profit corporation. This isn’t a pie-in-the-sky dream—we have a concrete legislative pathway to make this a reality.
A Comprehensive City Ordinance
Expand and protect our tree canopy, ban the construction of new dirty buildings while funding the conversion of existing ones, and increase regulation of industrial pollution.
Keep Green Promises
A local ordinance that doesn’t recommend or project but instead mandates 100% carbon neutral city services, including transportation and public safety.
A Revolution In Transportation
Expand a fully-funded TARC made free at the point of service and safe cycling infrastructure that is truly city wide.
National Leadership That Matters
Metro Government support for the federal Green New Deal to create programs and policy nationwide
The future of Louisville and the United States is one of ecosocialism. It will take something from everyone—from people like you who help start a movement, to the elected leaders that commit to the vision, to the workers that build it. The sooner we start, the better.
