A People's Budget FOR LOUISVILLE 2021

The people of Louisville deserve a budget that serves the many.

Greg Fischer is again proposing that Louisville increase the police budget while public services remain underfunded. We are proposing a People's Budget Amendment to the Metro Council so we can build a #SolidarityCity for the Many, not the Few.

DEFUND THE POLICE

By cutting funding for new police hires, overtime, and militarized police equipment, we can save $28.5 million and use those savings to invest in stronger, safer, healthier communities.

INCREASE FUNDING FOR SOCIAL SERVICES

We can increase funding for public health and safety, our park system, our libraries, and in combating air pollution.

INVEST IN OUR FUTURE

  • Address our urban heat island and combat climate change.

  • Establish a Louisville Worker Ownership Fund to spur development that builds communities and invests in working people rather than big business.
