As the political landscape shifts under Trump’s second administration, Louisville DSA is launching the Solidarity City 2025 Campaign to stand in solidarity with our immigrant and trans communities. This campaign will run from January to June 2025, addressing mass deportations and attacks on trans rights through advocacy, mutual aid, and community organizing.
Trump has vowed to implement mass deportations, targeting immigrant families and dismantling sanctuary protections. Simultaneously, trans youth are under siege from discriminatory laws and extreme rhetoric that undermine their rights and safety. Our campaign seeks to resist these threats while addressing the complicity and inaction of leaders at local and state levels.
We believe in combining grassroots mobilization with direct aid to protect those most vulnerable and to build a movement that fights for justice and liberation for all. We want to live in a Solidarity City, do you?
Advocacy for Sanctuary and Protections
Mobilizing the community to pressure local and state leaders for non-compliance with deportation efforts.
Collaborating with allies to draft and pass resolutions in the Metro Council, schools, and universities protecting immigrant and trans communities.
Organizing high-visibility actions to hold decision-makers accountable.
Mutual Aid for Immigrant Families
Sponsoring legal clinics to help families prepare for potential deportation raids.
Assembling and distributing 500 Family Preparedness Kits with essential resources and guidance.
Providing direct support to affected families through community outreach and aid.
