ProTECT QUEER AND TRANS LIVES

Socialist Queer Worker & Youth Defense (SQWYD) is a volunteer-led campaign launched by Louisville DSA committed to educating the general public about SB150, listening to the concerns of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies, and identifying ways to support and protect the queer and trans community in Louisville and beyond, especially in schools, healthcare settings, and other workplaces.

About SB150

SB150 is a cruel, punitive law passed in March 2023 by the Kentucky legislature that attacks the queer and trans community by...

Banning life-saving, gender-affirming healthcare and forcing doctors to “de-transition” their patients.

Prohibiting or limiting valuable, age-appropriate education about gender and sexuality.

Requiring schools to implement bathroom policies that disregard a student’s gender identity.

Allowing teachers to misgender their students, creating a hostile learning environment.
